Linkings

Is this idea of “Linkings” is from sci-fi book series whose identity escapes me for the moment. It was used as a euphemism for a future vision of the world wide web. Apparently it was one that better resembled the original web before it was swallowed up by corporate giants. (Political? Sure, I have opinions!)
